Vamos a Sagunto!

On Wednesday, the school took the ACA students into Sagunto for more fun and learning. The first stop was the local Catholic church - La Iglesia de Santa Maria (There are a LOT of saints here). Here we got a brief sketch of the history of Sagunto and then we were off to El Teatro de Los Romanos. This theatre was built in the FIRST century (A long, long time ago) and in the year 2000, the marble seats were added and the stage was rebuilt. Very cool.

Our third stop was to be the local castle however the weather was not on our side. It rained pretty much the entire day so I was unable to see the castle - again. My teacher said this was first time in thirty years that she has taken students to Sagunto and it has rained. This bodes well for the rest of the year right?

However the day was not spoiled because I was able to look around the local open air market (only happens on Wednesdays) and eat some hot chocolate! The hot chocolate turned out to be more like warm, thin pudding but it was still really good.
