Sagunto - Granada
The first thing we did after arriving to Granada was pile into the bus and head to the local, historical Monastery called “La Cartuja. The monastery was beautiful – it included a cafeteria (no talking allowed), discussion room, outside courtyard called El Claustro, and of course the church. The church was the most beautiful part because the monks wanted God to live in splendor while they lived in humbleness.
Around 10:00 p.m., yes 10 PM!, we headed to one of the oldest Arab neighborhoods in Granada. This neighborhood was beautiful and had many typical Arab features. The tour ended in a really neat courtyard facing the lit-up Alhambra. The Alhambra was beautiful but what really made the moment was the guy playing classical Spanish music on his guitar in the background. So cool when your stereotypes come true. Are we done yet??
No!! After the tour, our group headed to a Tablao Famenco. Really cool to see dancing close up – I should know, I was in the front row. Luckily, there was nothing more after the dancing and I was able to finally head to bed.
